Overview
Thesis Flow is a minimalist New Tab writing tracker. It is designed to work offline and to keep your data on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information.
What data does the extension store?
The extension stores only the following items, locally in your browser using localStorage:
- Daily writing entries (date and word count)
- Optional chapter assignment for each entry
- Preferences (e.g., daily goal, theme, chapter list/targets)
No names, emails, accounts, or identifiers are collected.
Where is data stored?
All data remains on your device, in your browser’s localStorage. It is not sent to external servers.
Permissions
Thesis Flow does not request broad or sensitive permissions. It overrides the New Tab page and uses local browser storage to persist your settings and entries.
Data sharing & third parties
We do not share data with third parties. We do not use analytics, advertising networks, or embedded trackers.
Security
Your entries are stored locally in your browser. Please secure your device and browser profile to prevent unauthorized access.
Your controls
- Reset Data: Deletes all entries from localStorage.
- Reset Settings: Restores default preferences (does not delete entries).
- Export: You may export your entries to CSV for your own records.
Children’s privacy
This tool is intended for general audiences, primarily adult researchers and students. It does not target or knowingly collect information from children.
